Every seven years or so the elements of a creative process come together like a good perfect storm and the results can be what the artist might consider his best work. The elements in this case were the location, the lighting and of course the model. The location was a small wooden boat dock on a lake. The background was far back in the distance so that it was possible to throw it out of focus, resulting in a painterly effect. It helped that there was a slight breeze making the water ripple. A lot of the lighting came from the sun. We were under a large old oak tree and the sun was casting small beams of light through the tree onto the model and the wooden deck. There were also five strobe lights placed around the model. And one reflector.
Of course there is the model, Bobby Clark. I always thought it was a porn crime that this kid didn’t make it on the cover of Freshmen magazine. Bobby Clark, in my humble opinion, has the good looks of the quintessential all American guy and definitely should be more of a star than he already is. He was the perfect model for the perfect location at the perfect moment. And a great guy to work with as well. Moreover, credit also has to go to the COLT Studio Group for booking Bobby in the BUCKSHOT video in the first place.
I also invite you to visit the official website for Boy Country.
I thought I’d share this special slideshow I’ve prepared to give you an enhanced view of my work with Bobby Clark – ENJOY!
