After seven and a half hours of surgery my brother is doing fine. He should be removed from the intensive care unit today. He may get to go home as soon as Sunday. The surgeons detached the tumor that was wrapped around his second cranial nerve and feel confident they removed the entire tumor. They are doing an MRI today to check the results of the surgery. I want to thank everyone who emailed, commented, twitted, and called me to offer him support and encouragement. Thank you so much.

    TIME OUT

    Posted in: Just me

It has been awhile since I’ve posted a blog and my apologies for that. I have been dealing with some family issues and my mind simply hasn’t been focused on my blog. I am currently in Sacramento, CA at the UC Davis Medical Center. My brother is having brain surgery to remove a tumor from his second cranial nerve. He was diagnosed six months ago and is just now going into surgery. The tumor is benign and the prognosis is good. It will be at least a five hour wait until we hear from his doctors as to how the surgery went. I will post an update when the surgery is complete and my brother has been removed from ICU.
